“India believes in resolving conflicts with diplomacy and dialogue” says PM Modi ahead of Ukraine visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on visit to Poland, soon he will travel to Kyiv and meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, about peaceful solution to ongoing conflicts.

Statement before Ukraine visit

During his visit to Poland PM modi addresses Indian community in Poland where he says, “India believes in Buddha, in peace… India is an advocate of permanent peace in this region. Our stand is very clear – this isn’t a time to engage in war. This is the time to come together against those challenges which threaten humanity. Therefore, India believes in diplomacy and dialogues to resolve conflict,”

India’s Mantra of Humanity First

During his address to the Indian diaspora in Warsaw, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored value of empathy that defines India’s identity on the global stage.

PM Modi says, “Empathy is also an identity of us Indians. If any country in the world faces a crisis, India is the first country to extend a helping hand. When Covid came, India said- Humanity first. We sent medicines and vaccines to more than 150 countries of the world. Wherever there is an earthquake or disaster, India has only one mantra – Humanity first. If there is a war anywhere, India says – Humanity first, and with this feeling, India helps the citizens of the world.”

During Speech PM Narendra Modi talks about shift in India’s foreign policy.

He stated, “For decades, India had a policy to maintain distance from all the countries. However, the policy of today’s India is to remain close to all the countries. The India of today wants to connect with all. The India of today talks about the development of all. The India of today is with all and thinks about the interests of all.”

PM Modi’s comments underline intentions to build strong ties with all nations, focusing on mutual development, cooperation, and shared interests, reflecting a modern, outward-looking India that seeks to play a pivotal role in global affairs.

While addressing Indian community PM Modi says ” After 45 years, an Indian PM has visited Poland…I visited Austria a few months ago, there also, an Indian PM was visiting after 4 decades…for decades, India’s policy was to keep equal distance with all the countries but new India’s policy is to keep closeness with all countries…Today India speaks about everyone’s development…and thinks about others. Today the world is respecting India as ‘Vishwabandhu’…”
