Paris Olympic 2024: Big disappointment for India as medal dream has been shattered without playing a match as Indian Wrestler Vinesh Phogat has been disqualified from the women’s wrestling 50kg for being overweight.
As per the reports, Indian wrestler has been overweight on Tuesday night. Indian delegation pleaded for more time but all in vein as she weighted few grams over this morning.

“It is with regret that the Indian contingent shares news of the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat from the Women’s Wrestling 50kg class. Despite the best efforts by the team through the night, she weighed in a few grams over 50kg this morning. No further comments will be made by the contingent at this time. The Indian team requests you respect Vinesh’s privacy. It would like to focus on the competitions on hand. “
As per the rules, Indian wrestler will not elilgible for silver medal also and 50 kg will have just gold and bronze medal winners.
